  • Komárno

    The city of Komárno is the largest and most populous city of the Danube region. It lies at the confluence of rivers Danube and Váh, which gave the city a strong position within the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy in the past. Komárno has an extremely rich history. A bridge connects Komárno to its Hungarian fraternal city Komárom while they undertake a rich international cooperation together.

  • Iža

    The village of Iža is an important archaeological site. The village name was mentioned for the first time back in 1172. Right on the bank of Danube river there is Slavic cemetery from the 9th century as well as the remains of the Roman fort from the 4th century. These are currently proposed for inclusion on the UNESCO Heritage List.

  • Patince

    Patince has in recent years become a popular spa destination for the region residents. The first local settlements were seemingly discovered in the Stone Age. In the past, as well as today, Patince is an important point on the map of thermal springs. Visitors from all over Slovakia come to the country’s southernmost village thanks to high-quality services.

  • Moča

    The village of Moča has been known since 1208 and today has just over 1,150 inhabitants. It belonged to the Komárno aristocracy, later to Archbishopric of Esztergom and even to Báthory family. Moča is the center of winery and vintner competitions are held here annually.

  • Kravany pod Dunajom

    In the municipality of so-called village of mansions lie four historical buildings – mansion and three castles. Besides them, there is but recently built an observation tower, which offers the most beautiful view of the Danube. From a height of 17 meters, you learn far and wide.

  • Mužla

    The village with less than two thousand inhabitants has in its municipality a number of natural reservations, but visitors will most likely be interested in the Roman Catholic church from 1332 as well as rich winery tradition.

  • Štúrovo

    The city of Štúrovo essentially benefits from the proximity of the third largest church in Europe. You can get to the Basilica on foot and there is a sightseeing shuttle train that drives to opposite end of the Danube. In Štúrovo there is a swimming pool which uses thermal springs.
