He studied in Trnava and Vienna and later devoted himself to the education of priests. He served successively as Bishop of Csan\u00e1d, P\u00e9cs and Veszpr\u00e9m, Archbishop of Gy\u0151r and Kalocsa, and finally, from 21 March 1685, Archbishop of Esztergom. He died on 18 February 1695 in Pressburg (today Bratislava), where his remains are interred in St. Martin&#8217;s Cathedral.
