It is oriented east–west, with a presbytery and a sacristy added on the south side. The church is dedicated to the Archangel Michael. The doors are double-leaf, and the smooth ceiling is decorated with paintings of biblical scenes.

The main altar and the pulpit date from the 1770s and are crafted in Rococo style. St. Michael is the central figure of the altarpiece from 1883. The side altar, probably dating from the mid-18th century, is dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk. The pulpit can be reached from the sacristy. To the right of the pulpit stands Our Lady of Lourdes. The main façade has three bays. The tower has a square ground plan and a pyramidal roof topped with a cross.

From the church’s history, the year 1599 is significant, when it was devastated by the forces of the Transylvanian prince István Bocskai. Its restoration did not take place until much later, in 1721. The earthquakes of 1763 and 1773 damaged the church again. It was definitively restored in 1744. Its original vaulted ceiling was replaced with a flat, smooth one, so the church today no longer has its original architectural character.

[108
113
post-1416","zaujimavost","type-zaujimavost","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","kategoria-programov-with-culture","obec-iza
["GET
