Construction of the church tower began in 1818, but due to lack of funds, it was only completed in 1832. At that time, the front of the church was also created in Empire style. In 1837, the church had three new bells cast for the new tower, and in 1839 the tower received tower clocks from the Buda master Jozef Jauschmann.

On 29 September 1849, the imperial troops besieging the town set fire to the church. The roof burned down, the bells and tower clocks were destroyed. In 1850, the roof of the church was restored, and in 1853 the renovation of the interior was also completed.

During World War I, 2 bells were confiscated from the church tower. Of the missing bells, for one, called the “Farmers’ Bell,” the Komárno farmers of the Reformed faith raised funds, and for the other, the so-called “Jókai Bell,” money was collected from the other members of this Christian community.
