M\u00f3r J\u00f3kai, “the great storyteller”, was a famous Hungarian writer. The Kom\u00e1rno island played an important role in J\u00f3kai’s life. He grew up here from early childhood and liked to stop here even in the advanced years of his life, where in the company of Zsolt Be\u00f6thy he took part in the celebrations of the writers of the time who came here on visits from Pest.<\/p>\n
After the death of M\u00f3r J\u00f3kai, Zsolt Be\u00f6thy had this memorial built for his 65th birthday in order to faithfully preserve the greatness and spirit of the writer.
