Church of the Reformed Christian Church

Description

The Calvinist church was built in 1871. It has a rectangular shape. Its interior furnishings stand out for their Puritan simplicity. There is a pulpit, a communion table, a harmonium and pews. The ceiling is supported by iron pillars, and the windows have semicircular tops.

A second plaque is dedicated to the victims of the Second World War. It bears their names and the text: “Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. Rom. 14:8. With remembrance and love, the Reformed Church of Iža, 1975.”

The third plaque reads: 31 Oct. 1517–1917 Holy Trinity, one eternal, true God. In memory of the four-hundredth anniversary of the Reformation: ‘For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.’ 1 Cor. 3:11.

The church was last renovated in 1995 during the ministry of parish priest Ladislav Fazekas.
