The birthplace of Mór Jókai is located in the centre of Komárno. Mór Jókai (1825-1904) was one of the most important Hungarian writers of the 19th century. He was born in Komárno, and his works are among the foundations of Hungarian literature. The house in which he was born is an important cultural monument of the town.
