The Berek Forest Park is located in the southwestern part of the town in Veľký háj. It lies on the outskirts of Nové Zámky by the river Nitra. There is also an educational board about the flora and fauna of the Ponitrie region. The trees in this area are of various species — the most widespread are common maple, horse chestnut and common oak. The sweet chestnut, hidden deep in the forest, is not missing either.
A unique oak more than 200 years old stands by the main asphalt path on the right side. It is a legally protected tree. Its trunk circumference is 460 cm and its height is 30 m. There are more exceptionally large oaks in this area — three of them are protected and ten others have been proposed for protection.
