The Emil Tatárik Štrand in Nové Zámky offers its visitors a wide range of leisure options. Entrance to the complex is via a wooden bridge built across the former mill race of the river Nitra. On the edge of the town, bathing-hungry visitors will find the excellently equipped Štrand thermal swimming pool. Across an area of eight hectares there are 9 pools. The swimming pool measures 50 x 21 metres. The depth ranges from 1.10 to 2 m. The water temperature is maintained at 26–28 °C. The second pool, for less skilled swimmers, is 25 metres long and 12.5 metres wide. The water is 1.5 m deep at a temperature of 28–30 °C.
The complex also offers other leisure opportunities according to visitors’ interests on its sports and children’s play areas. Attractions include ping-pong tables, an 18-hole mini-golf course, a basketball court and volleyball courts, a pétanque pitch and giant chess. Indispensable are the modern buffet-type catering facilities, showers and sanitary facilities, valuables storage, changing rooms, sports equipment rental and accommodation with 32 beds.
