It is one of the southernmost villages in southern Slovakia and lies right next to the Danube. It is first mentioned in 1208.
Moča, in the Komárno district, has 1,100 inhabitants. It is located between Štúrovo and Komárno. It belongs to the oldest settled areas in Slovakia – its territory was already inhabited in the Neolithic. The village was traditionally agricultural, with fishing on the Danube also playing an important role. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Komárno estate and was devastated several times during the Turkish wars. Despite this, it preserved its identity and cultural traditions. In the village there is a Reformed church from the 18th century and several folk buildings documenting the traditional way of life in the Danube region.
