Ruins of the Church of St. Michael

Description

There is historical evidence that the village already had a church in the 13th century, but the exact date of its construction is not known. In the final months of the war it suffered several hits, and was finally blown up by the retreating Germans on 28 March 1945. Both of its towers collapsed along with the nave, and only part of the sanctuary was preserved. Its damaged, bare walls stood for several years, until in the end only a heap of rubble overgrown with weeds remained.
