At the Village Museum in Moča, an important ethnographic and regional collection awaits those interested, with interactive programmes upon request. Here, visitors encounter the colourful, rich world of old peasant culture. By following the material and spiritual products of our folk culture, a world opens up to us in which people still lived in true community spirit, close to each other, in tight human relationships, helping each other, dependent on one another, where they respected one another. We can observe the values created by the hands of peasant people, who did not waste anything that nature gave them.
The current exhibition deals with four themes:
- Population development, history of the village
- Notable personalities of the village
- Boat mills, millers on the Danube
- Fates of serfs
The ethnographic objects and documents researching the history of the village, which are exhibited at the Village Museum in Moča, belong to our national cultural heritage. They are a source for studying the past and a source of traditions that preserve values. We invite visitors to see with their own eyes how a small village takes care of its traditions and customs.
