In mid-September, General Klapka Square transforms into a grand wine festival – the Komárno Wine Promenade (Komárňanské vínne korzo / Komáromi borkorzó). It is one of the largest cultural and gastronomic events of the autumn in the region.
Winemakers from Slovakia, Hungary, Burgenland and the surrounding wine regions present their finest wines. Alongside wine tasting, visitors can enjoy gastro stalls with traditional dishes – grilled sausage, gypsy pork roast, trdelník, homemade cheeses – and live music in the pleasant autumn atmosphere of the historic square.
