St. Andrew’s Fair (Ondrejský jarmok / András-napi vásár) is one of the oldest traditional markets in Komárno, held every year in mid-November in the historic fortress. The tradition of this fair is connected with the feast of St. Andrew, patron saint of the local church, and has centuries of history in the city.
Craftsmen and vendors from Slovakia, Hungary and Transylvania offer handmade products, decorations and original Christmas gifts. The characteristic atmosphere is enhanced by the aromas of honey, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and sausages. The fair also offers a rich programme for children and has become a popular destination for first Christmas shopping.
